Project: revamping HO2 ArcelorMittal

02/01/2016

A project, a challenge

In response to the daily commitment of the ADF teams during the projects for Duinkerke, Fos and Ghent, ArcelorMittal has expressed its confidence in ADF. The steel produce giant has placed an order for the lots “Ontvangsrechter” and “Primaire gaszuivering” during HO2’s revamping in Duinkerke. As much as it is a challenge, this project will be a fantastic opportunity for our ADF Tarlin teams.

Work distribution

The project, which is the first of such size that’s been assigned to ADF in the north, requires very detailed preparation and monitoring, as well as care and diligence in the various disciplines. This project will involve a large number of teams along with ADF Tarlin’s competences, including: the EPC team with reinforcement on site, the workplace, the engineering, the quality service and a safety prevention team.

La Feuillane’s teams will contribute with their experience and their know-how, Cadsud with its expertise. ADF Normandie and ADF TIB will also be involved on a site that will be occupied daily by 120 people for the duration of the shutdown, from August until November 2015.

No compromises

The client was very clear about the safety approach: “At a certain point 700 people will be working simultaneously on HO2’s different floors, on a very limited area no less. That’s why it’s essential to be extremely vigilant. We will not compromise on safety.”

I ask all teams to collectively try to fulfill our client’s expectations, in a safe and professional way, with a “zero accident” result. Together, I am confident we can turn this opportunity into a great success.
