Training Flange connection

15/09/2016

In the industry, a flange connection is an important sealing method with regards to the integrity of the installation.

The failure of a flange joint can have major consequences for the safety, environment, profitability and the ‘license to operate’.

Especially for major turnarounds, companies are searching for a way to test their flange fitter in advance as an entry requirement to perform the work. This is similar to a welder who perform a test weld to show his craftsmanship.

Therefore ADF TIB organized a flange integrity management course for his staff in collaboration with Peter Dijkgraaf. ADF wants to optimize/ guarantee quality for flange connections with this course.

It is important that the supervisors on site are aware of this quality behavior, to make sure the installation of the customer is 100% best delivered.

The project engineers followed a basic training to understand the importance of a correct flange connection. Later this year, the welders and pipefitters will follow a training to learn the correct tightening of flange couples. They will be certified according to the European Standard EN 1591-4 ‘Qualification of personnel competency’.

No leakage is our goal and a must, just as our 100 % quality guarantee of a weld.
